THE GRAND FINALE!!!

What a way to end the calendar year of social events for the ABSC family!! It sure was GREAT to see everybody at the Christmas Party Saturday night!! We missed those of you who, for whatever reason, couldn't be there; and I'm sure you know by now, you missed a wonderful party. To the Dunes Club, we wish to express our delight for the luxurious setting and wonderful service rendered. The buffet was exquisite. We are so fortunate to have such an elegant location available to us to bring our beach and shag family together in celebration of the Christmas Season.

Now, for some particulars. At least you got to meet some of the 'behind the scenes' folks. I say "some" because there are so many others who volunteer time, energy, money, support, etc. who were not introduced. Believe me it is a very long list. To the evening's DJ, Butch Conner, it was pretty evident what folks thought of the music 'cause they kept the dance floor hoppin' all night! Great job, Butch!! David, Jane, Janet, and Ted: door prize congrats! Enjoy!! Congrats also to Bob Upchurch regarding the 50/50 dollars. Word is, Bob plans to use his winnings to purchase two bikes to donate to 'Toys for Tots'. You're a good man, Bob Upchurch!!!

Certainly "Thanks" are in order to all of you who brought a toy for the 'Toys for Tots' campaign to be distributed to needy children. Marines from the MCAS Cherry Point Reserve Support Unit (RSU) volunteered their time to come and accept the toys and transport them to Cherry Point for us. We donated 122 toys!! On behalf of the Marines and the ABSC board, again, "Thank you, thank you" to everyone who donated toys and/or money!!

In closing, as Entertainment Committee chairpersons, Bob and I wish to express to each of you on behalf of the entire committee our appreciation for the positive comments and "Thanks" we have received for the good times you are having in the ABSC! I can't tell you how much that means to us! Merry Christmas to you, all!!!
