PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: Happy New Year!  I hope each of you had a wonderful Christmas.  It is hard to believe it’s 2012 already.  Let’s make this a great year for ABSC.  You can do this by getting involved.  We have our only Fund Raiser coming up in May.  With a little help from each member, this can be successful.  Linda Navey is coordinating our annual REVERSE DRAWING.  Please let Linda know how many tickets you will buy or sell.  Thank you for your help.  Each of you is a valuable asset to ABSC.

The January social was great.  Kudos to the Social Committee for a fun Italian Night.  The cuisine was delicious!  The atmosphere fabulous!  ABSC definitely has some great chefs. Thanks for your dedication and hard work.     

Our next Membership Meeting will be at 7:00 on February 10th at Memories.  Changes in the by-laws will be presented.  Please be present to give your input.

The Atlantic Beach Shag Club Italian Night Social was a real treat.  Memories became a bistro with red and white table cloths adorned with candles dripping over their wine bottle used as candle holders. “Mama Mia” What a feast! Forty five members or guests enjoyed baked spaghetti, sausage, Caesar salad and garlic bread. The Cannoli pastries and Chianti wine kept us warm and happy. Besides the delicious food, we were treated to music by DJ Alan Hilbert and a new dance step taught by Fred Davis  Throughout the course of the evening you could see many couples and line dancers engaging in some fancy footwork. Tommy Savage won the fifty-fifty and demonstrated his excitement with his infectious, happy laugh. New members mingled with our long timers, sharing stories and having a lot of fun.

Thanks to all who came out in the cold to enjoy and support our Shag Club January social.


CHRISTMAS AT THE DUNES CLUB: Each year the Atlantic Beach Shag Club has its annual Christmas Party at the Dunes Club.  This year is without exception.  I believe this is the 8th year at the Dunes. Our numbers were not as big as in the past, but I think it was a great party.  I know that ALL that attend enjoyed the party.  I know I did.  The committee is to be THANKED for their efforts.
