The Atlantic Beach Shag Club of Atlantic Beach, NC is a non-profit dance and social club and is a member of the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs, which is made up of over 100 non-profit local clubs from Baltimore to Miami.
Our Club was founded in 1990 and submitted to the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs for membership on December 17, 1995. The Association approved our application for membership in January, 1996 and we have been a member in good standing since that time.
The Club has between 175 and 200 active members each year and holds a monthly meetings at 8:00 PM on the 2nd Friday of each month at Memories Beach and Shag Club, Atlantic Beach, NC. The business and activities of the Club are managed and governed in accordance with the Club's own set of internally written bylaws. In June, the Club elects new officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) which begin their duties in July. The Club's Board of Directors is made up of the four elected officers and five directors which are appointed by the president.
Each year the Club supports local charities as well as community events.

• A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT - BILL GUTHRIE •
Let me first thank all of you for allowing me to serve as President this year. It is truly my honor and pleasure to serve. I promise you I will do my best. But most of all I thank all of you for being my friends.
THANK YOU TO THE OFFICERS AND BOARD MEMBERS AS WELL AS ALL THE PEOPLE ON THE COMMITTEES AND OTHERS THAT HELPED IN SO MANY WAYS TO SERVE THIS CLUB IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR. I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH THE NEW BOARD & COMMITTEE MEMBERS. I KNOW WE WILL HAVE A FANTASTIC YEAR!
